Event Description

Embracing the theme Neonatal Care: It Takes a Village, CANN 2018 will feature an impressive line-up of speakers, experts and leaders who will address today’s emerging topics and trends that are forging the way to improved neonatal nursing care and newborn health. This 2½‑day conference will include a combination of pre-conference workshops, general and concurrent sessions, poster presentations, as well as an exhibit component, and a social program allowing plenty of time to network.

This tour to the Peter Lougheed Centre will include a visit to the newly expanded NICU. The unit is a 36 bed space consisting of 12 single family rooms, 6 double patient rooms (twin & triplet spaces) and 2 pods each containing 6 beds.

Pre-Conference Workshop: Canadian Neonatal Nursing Certification Exam Preparation – CONFERENCE DELEGATE (discounted rate if also attending the conference)
Thursday, April 19, 9 am – 5 pm and Friday, April 20, 9 am – 2:30 pm

This two-day workshop will be a case-based learning opportunity incorporating the new Canadian Neonatal Nursing Competencies to help support nurses preparing to write the Canadian Neonatal Specialty Certification Exam. Upon completion of the workshop, the learner will be able to identify gaps in knowledge and areas for further study.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in an opportunity to integrate current neonatal knowledge in an interactive and engaging format, but does not replace exam preparation. Participants are expected to have previously studied all exam components (see ‘Exam Blueprint and Specialty Competencies’) if planning to write the exam in May 2018.

Registration fee includes participation in the workshop, refreshment breaks and a light lunch on both days.

A limited number of hotel rooms have been secured for our group at a special rate of $159 for a Traditional Room.
 
Our group rate will only be available until Wednesday, April 4, 2018, or until our group block is sold out, whichever comes first. After that point, any new reservation will be subject to availability at the daily rate applicable at the time of reservation.
 
The rate is applicable per room, per night, for single or double occupancy. The rate is quoted in Canadian dollars and is subject to a 3% Destination Marketing Fee, 4% Tourism Marketing Levy, and 5% Goods and Services Tax (taxes and fees may change without notice).
 
Individuals are responsible for their own room, tax and incidental charges, and all charges must be paid upon checkout. All rooms include complimentary standard in-room Wi-Fi.
 
Cancellation or modification of a reservation must be received by Sunday, April 15, 2018, or the cost of one night will be charged. If you check out prior to your confirmed departure date, the cost of one night will be charged unless you reconfirm your departure date a minimum of 48 hours prior to departure and/or if the early departure is due to illness or emergency.
 
Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m.; checkout time is 12:00 p.m.

Cancellation &
Refund Policy

Refunds of registration fees, less a $25 CAD administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Wednesday, April 4, 2018. No refunds will be issued after this date. If you are unable to attend, you may substitute someone in your place. All cancellations and substitution requests must be received in writing. Refunds will be processed after the conference.
