Event Description

The AAIM Annual Meeting is a structured program using academic and industry experts who provide excellent learning opportunities for medical directors and underwriters. The meeting focuses on the latest medical advances relevant to insurance medicine and provides the unique core skills and knowledge that set medical directors apart from other doctors.

 

AAIM MISSION STATEMENT

To provide Insurance Medical Directors with lifelong quality education that develops and increases knowledge, competence and professional skills used in life, health, disability and long-term care insurance. This will be accomplished through the offering of diverse educational activities including seminars, conferences, lectures and workshops using effective learning methods as approved by the American Academy of Insurance Medicine.

 

The Academy will also endeavor to assist other organizations with an interest in insurance medicine and who provide quality education to their membership by providing joint sponsorship for approved programs.

 

GOALS

•      To provide both new and experienced medical directors with the latest clinical and   

        risk classification information for a wide variety of medical impairments.

•      To present important topics from our Core Body of Knowledge that are not covered 

        in other educational activities.

Atlanta Highlights City Tour

The tour begins with a brief stop to see the outside of the birth home of Martin Luther King Jr., followed by a tour of the highlights of the city of Atlanta. Participants will choose to visit one of the following additional destinations when they register:

Atlanta Botanical Garden Tour and Lunch

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30-acre property located adjacent to Piedmont Park in central Atlanta. You will have a guided two-hour tour of some of the Garden's highlights. Guests will enjoy spectacular landscapes, manicured gardens, colorful flowers and beautiful statues.

Following the tour, you will have lunch at Mary Mac's Tea Room, which opened in 1945 and was honored in 2011 by being named by Georgia's House of Representatives as "Atlanta's Dining Room". The restaurant is renowned for its Southern cuisine and Southern hospitality.

This 1928 home was owned by Edward Inman, the heir to a large cotton brokerage fortune amassed in the post-Civil War "New South" era. The evening will include a reception amongst some of the exhibits, including "Fair Play: The Bobby Jones Story" and "Turning Point: The American Civil War and Folk Arts in a Changing South". A buffet dinner will take place in the Center's Grand Overlook Ballroom.

The AAIM 126th Annual Meeting room rate is $219 USD per night (single or double occupancy), plus federal, state, municipal and occupancy taxes. 

 

Our group rates will only be available until Friday, September 22, 2017, or until our group block is sold out, whichever comes first. After that point, any new reservations will be subject to availability at the daily rate applicable at the time of reservation.

Cancellation &
Refund Policy

Refunds of registration fees, less a $100 USD administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received by August 31, 2017. If you are unable to attend, you may substitute someone in your place. Cancellation for optional activities must be received by August 22, 2017. No refunds will be issued after these dates. All cancellation and substitution requests must be received in writing. Refunds will be processed after the meeting.
